Places & Experiences
🕯️ Fragonard, the perfumed soul of Grasse
Established in 1926 in a former 18th-century tannery, the Fragonard perfumery has kept alive the art of fragrance in Grasse. Fully renovated in 2013, it offers a fascinating visit into the secrets of traditional perfumery, from raw essences to delicate flacons.
Founded by Eugène Fuchs in tribute to Jean-Honoré Fragonard, painter to King Louis XV and native of Grasse, the house celebrates history, beauty, and French craftsmanship.
Here, it may well be the only place in the world where the word “factory” evokes poetry.
And for travellers with Mario Tours – Happy French Riviera, a negotiated 5 % discount on factory prices completes this sensory experience.
🌹 Grasse, world capital of perfume
Between sea and hills, Grasse breathes light and refinement.
In the air float the essences of rose, jasmine and tuberose, like an eternal promise.
Listed as a City of Art and History and inscribed on the UNESCO list, it embodies the very soul of perfume.
In 1614, the young King of France and Navarre, Louis XIII, recognized here the guild of glove-makers and perfumers, sealing the destiny of a city devoted to elegance.
Since then, every lane, every breath, every workshop tells the same story — that of an art born from nature and time. Grasse, more than a city — an emotion to breathe.
🛣️ The Route Napoléon, between History and Grandeur
Aboard your e-panoramic vehicle, you’ll marvel at breathtaking landscapes along the Route Napoléon, one of France’s most legendary journeys.
In the footsteps of the Emperor, the road leads you to Castellane, the majestic gateway to the Alps — a legendary route where the French Riviera, Haute-Provence, and the Alps meet in a symphony of scenery and light.
Between mountains, forests and hilltop villages, every curve tells a story and reveals an authentic, radiant France.
A timeless journey along the most beautiful road in France.
🪨 Castellane, between Rock and Legend
In the heart of a preserved landscape, between the Alps and the Mediterranean, along the famous Route Napoléon and at the gateway to the Verdon Gorges, Castellane reveals an exceptional heritage.
Crowned by the Roc Notre-Dame, rising 184 meters high, this medieval town watches over its ancient streets and thousand-year-old history.
Its name, from the Latin Petra Castellana, means “the rock of the fortress,” guardian of a vibrant past.
Fountains, façades and symbols bear witness to a legacy blending tradition, craftsmanship and spirituality.
Between majestic nature and the memory of centuries, Castellane embodies the living soul of Haute-Provence.
🏞️ The Verdon Gorge — the Grand Canyon of Provence, the deepest in Europe
Aboard your e-panoramic vehicle, let yourself be carried away for more than two hours of wonder in the heart of the Verdon Gorge, Europe’s deepest canyon.
The silence of the e-panoramic surrounds you, offering total immersion in nature, where every breath of wind and every ray of light become sensations.
Sculpted by the Verdon River, these dizzying gorges stretch for 25 kilometres — this is your path, one of raw and changing beauty, in the heart of the Prealps of Haute-Provence.
In some places, the river disappears beneath the rock in an impressive mineral chaos, only to reappear further on in a turquoise burst.
The Verdon is a butterfly in metamorphosis, and you are its main actor.
From the Route des Crêtes, the views are breathtaking — this too is your path.
There is no season not to visit by e-panoramic, and to feel the power of nature.
🌲 Cascade Saint-Maurin — a hidden emerald of the Verdon
After your e-panoramic journey, let the road fade away and continue your adventure along the water. In the majestic setting of the Verdon Gorges, the Saint-Maurin waterfall springs from vibrant nature, where turquoise reflections meet the breath of stone. Once secret and hard to reach, this wonder can now be discovered by pedal boat, included in the price, with up to five people per boat.
As you glide along, silence turns into melody, light caresses the water, and the Verdon reveals itself like a waking dream.
🏘️ Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Star of Haute-Provence
Clinging to the cliffs near Lake Sainte-Croix and the Verdon Gorges, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie shines among the most beautiful villages of France.
Its houses rise along the rock, its lanes sing of Provence, and its hanging star watches over the village like an ancient secret.
Famous since the 17th century for its handcrafted faience, Moustiers blends heritage, craftsmanship and nature with timeless grace.
Between lavender fields, turquoise waters and majestic cliffs, every stone tells the story of faith, tradition and light.
A jewel suspended between earth and sky, where art and beauty become one.
💧 Lake Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, a turquoise destination
Between the Alps, the French Riviera and Provence, the Lake of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon shines like a jewel set among fragrant hills.
Its energy comes from a rare balance between mountain and plain, lavender and pine, water and light.
Here, the scents of lavender, thyme and honey blend beautifully with those of pine and truffle oak.
With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, its deep-blue waters stay inviting — swimming here is pure pleasure.
Canoeing, kayaking, rowing, pedal boating or sailing — every adventure unfolds at your own rhythm, between laughter and the calm of azure.
At the entrance to the Verdon Gorges, the water turns an extraordinary, almost unreal shade of blue.
A place to live, to feel, to contemplate… and above all, don’t forget your swimsuit!
💙 A stop is a must at Lake Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon — an unforgettable encounter with light and water.
